![]() Trade sucks for me, there is no such thing as permanent trading partners, trade is set in stone for a number of turns.Diplomacy sucks, but compared to Warhammer, it's better: you can trade cities and issue ultimatums, but that's it, it's nowhere near Three Kingdoms.UI is copypasted from Warhammer, which makes it easily accessible for me as a Warhammer fan. This is how I approached it, and why I don't play it. Top comment says mythology is the only way, yet you enjoy historical settings, so mythology units are actually a negative in your case, am I right? So how "mythology is the only way to play it though" helps you? If anything it scares you away because it's easy to make an assumption that unless you play mythology, which isn't your thing I presume, the game sucks. How best to describe the game to you, worth it for you compared to what? I'd never touch Shogun 2 or Britannia because of their horribly ugly UI, and you might don't care at all about that. It's not a good fit for me, but that doesn't mean it's a bad game, not by a longshot. It's super difficult to answer this properly for you, because you barely give us anything to judge if the game would be good for you. So take that for what you will the Mythos is fun, I did enjoy truth behind the myth and if those sound like something you would maybe like it’s probably worth it, if not then it may not. If you like Greek myth, if you like the setting, If you don’t mind warhammer style single units, then you will probably like it. However Mythos for me has really made me come to adore the game, it’s not perfect and probably not for everyone but I’m absolutely having a blast with it. I don’t know how it is on historical mode yet but I’ve heard it seems half baked. Plus the multi resource economy is much more engaging than just gold. But I love the setting I am a sucker for Greek myth and bronze aged setting is super cool. I played it when it came out and it was fun but as much as I liked the truth behind the myth in theory it felt awkward being between a fantastical title and a historical title. Since you are likely in a war with many factions, they often targeted lots of agents in your provinces. I sure make the game harder but not in an enjoyable way.Įdit: agent spam is a problem too. I absolutely detest this experience in Troy. They often spend lots of time just waiting out of range of the coast, then suddenly move in the next turn. Well, the long coast means that even worse in Troy, and the alliances mean you are dealing with a lot of factions waiting for opportunities to sack your coast. There’s a lot of water in Troy, and u probably have already experienced what’s a pain to defend your coastal cities in other TW games. On the other hand, fighting the opposing force is quite exhausting. That experience is ok but sometimes unpleasant. The game pit you towards working with your allies against the other alliances of factions (trojans or greeks), and that means you will need to deal a lot with AI diplomatically. However, of all the issues you typically find in a TW games, this game has it even worse. Overall, I agree with of the positive reviews out there. Unit caps are implemented well so that mythic is a component but not too broken in battle. It also has really innovative elements, like the 4-currency economy. Mythic mode is well-designed, the game is beautiful and battles are decently fun and different. Think we missed one?
